WILL THE RED ISSUE GYPSY CURSE WORK?

SAF talking about the trend of clubs moving to a new ground and going down:

"Look at Southampton they have thrived on it."

SAF dismisses claims City could follow the pattern set by Bolton, Middlesbrough, Derby, Leicester and Sunderland who slipped out of the Premiership as their former grounds closed.

"There is no reason why going to a new stadium should be the death knell. Look at Bolton they are doing well now and surviving like nobody else could. Middlesbrough are back and doing well, so I don't think it is a general thing.

"Derby County perhaps, but if you have got the wherewithal and the desire and determination to do well stadiums shouldn't enter into it."

Fergie feels City will play their way out of the danger zone and predicts other clubs in deeper trouble could also escape.

"I expect City to get away from where they are now. I don't think they will go down, but you never know. Wolves have galvanised themselves somehow and at home they seem to be gathering points and they are more difficult to play against. They could put a run together.

"I also don't think Leeds will go down. Their home programme coming up is against Portsmouth, Leicester, Charlton, City and they could win all of them.

"I just feel there is something about Leeds at the moment. They have got a bit of determination about them.”
