Having got under the skin of Arsene Wenger he is now trying to smooth talk his way into Jose Mourhino's attentions.

Ferguson has described Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho as "confident, witty and good for the Premiership".

"Jose has done great since coming here. He has a confidence about him that has seeped into his team," enthused Ferguson. "He has been good for the Premiership. He has a wit and a humour about him. He comes across well and I get on OK with him."

"Right now, Chelsea are in full flow and there's not much I can say or do to derail them. Even I, with all my powers, can't stop it."

And as for Mourinho's offer of a bottle of good Portuguese wine:

"He's under pressure with that one! I love Portuguese wine, especially from the Porto region," Ferguson said
