The Observer report that Essien wants to go to Chelsea
Lyon midfielder Michael Essien has confirmed he will ignore approaches from Manchester United, Arsenal and Real Madrid to sign a 'dream' five-year contract with Chelsea.
'My agent will meet the president of Lyon in the next few days, then I will go back to Chelsea and hopefully an agreement can be found,' says the Ghana midfielder.
'My agent has had several conversations with Chelsea and they are prepared to offer me a five-year deal.
'If Chelsea want me they really have to do everything in their power to make an agreement with Lyon.'
