Dong gets a new contract, Rossi is sent to Parma. From United's site:

Dong Fangzhou has signed a new contract with the Reds until 2010 and is now eligible to play for United.

Dong will wear the number 21 shirt at Old Trafford and will become the first ever Chinese player to play for the Reds when he makes his competitive debut.

Ferguson said:

“We're all excited he has eventually arrived and can start playing. He sacrificed two and a half years at Royal Antwerp, which showed great patience and determination.

“He is quick and athletic and he can only improve by training with the first team squad here.”

From the BBC:

Giuseppe Rossi has joined former team Parma on loan until the end of the season, the Italian club website has reported.

The American-born 19-year-old spent the first half of this season on loan at Newcastle. He moved from Parma to United in 2004 and scored nine minutes into his Premiership debut in August 2005.

Parma are struggling in 19th place in Italy's Serie A.
