Manchester United are pondering the possibility of playing reserve fixtures at Manchester City's Eastland complex.

United will field two second string sides next season and are aware that their present Moss Lane ground cannot stage all their matches.

"We've considered the mini athletics stadium at Eastlands next door to the main stadium," confirmed David Gill, United chief executive.

The club have also looked at using Hyde United and Bury as alternative venues.
United have asked the City Council about the viability of their Pontins League team playing at Eastlands, with the Premier League reserve division side staying in Altrincham.
