There is one part of the world in which David Beckham is just not famous enough, Springfield, USA. Creators of the cult cartoon show The Simpsons, renowned for use of celebrity voice overs, such as prime minister Tony Blair, were planning to use Beckham in its 300th episode, due to be broadcast on Sky One on April 20. But, as executive producer Al Jean explained: ‘We thought about Becks but soccer isn’t as big over there (the United States). He’s not really famous enough’
