YOU'VE NO CLASS

Arsene Wenger accused Real Madrid of “lacking class” in their pursuit of Thierry Henry.

The furious Arsenal boss was incensed by Real Madrid coach Carlos Queiroz claiming yesterday he would like to sign Henry ahead of Ruud van Nistelrooy because the Arsenal striker is “at the very top of his game”.

“If I wanted a player from Real Madrid then the first thing that I would do would be to call Real Madrid. I would not say anything in the newspapers first. [He saves his newspaper comments for all things United]

“I expect a bit more class from Real Madrid. We have said many times that he is not for sale and we would not even put a price on him. You don’t put a price on your house if you don’t want to sell it.

“I don’t want to say any more about Real Madrid though as I could come out with more stories that would not be nice for them.”

Queiroz said in Spain: “If I had to pick, my preferences would be van Nistelrooy and Henry, who have both reached maturity. The Frenchman is now at the peak of his strengths and abilities.”
