Manchester United have identified Newcastle United defender Lewis Hall and Fulham full back Antonee Robinson as primary transfer targets as they look to reinforce their defensive depth over the summer. Michael Carrick has requested wing-back additions to bolster his squad.

The United boss wants to recruit a wide defender capable of delivering tactical discipline and athletic endurance across a demanding season ahead.

The 21-year-old Hall produced a series of impressive individual performances for Newcastle last season, while Robinson has long established himself as one of the most consistent left-backs in the Premier League.

United have already enjoyed a productive transfer window window, completing the acquisitions of midfielder Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa, playmaker Andrey Santos from Chelsea, and veteran goalkeeper Karl Darlow on a free transfer.

Carrick is eager to finalize his defensive setup before United embark on the next phase of their pre-season schedule.
